VICKY CAULFIELD
Practice Manager & Co-Founder at Let’s Get Fit
Certificate 4 in Fitness & Personal Training, Level 2 Wellness Coach
Fitness Philosophy: Try to achieve a balance between food, lifestyle and movement.
Sport has always been a major part of my life. My passions have always been gymnastics and athletics. Originally I leaned more toward PE teaching and studied nursing. Then whilst travelling a friend talked me into doing my fitness leaders’ course and that lead me to teaching boxing and aerobics classes. I fell in love with the fitness industry and that is where I stayed.
What I really love about me role at Let’s Get Fit is working with a wide variety of people and creating an open and welcoming environment. I like helping people discover that exercise can be enjoyable and that the benefits of exercise are far greater than weight management.
From the beginning our mission for Let’s Get Fit was always to help people who did not feel comfortable in the big gym environment. We want to provide a place where people who need a little extra support and understanding could come and feel comfortable and exercise without fear or judgement.
I really believe that at Let’s Get Fit we are all about health, wellbeing and quality of life. For me it is not just about exercise it is about lifestyle.
My personal fitness regime will often see me gravitate towards fast explosive exercise….boxing, body weight exercises, interval & circuit. I love anything that challenges my balance, reflexes and strength. As an ex-gymnast maintaining my flexibility is also a vital part of training.
Fitness for me is not just the physical benefits. Moving is not just good for the body but it is good for the soul. The health benefits are important to me, and I love the feeling of being strong, flexible and energetic. I exercise for stress relief and to clear my head, it helps me perform better, make decisions and deal with daily work, life and family commitments.
When clients leave after a GTS, Exercise Physiology or one-on-one session my goal is to make sure that they have confidence and feel good about themselves. It’s important to remember that not all people are going to loose weight or run a 5k. Some clients only come once per week – but at least they come once per week and at least they enjoy their session and feel positive about their body image.

Tell me a little about your background – what did you do before starting with Let’s Get Fit?
I played a lot of sport at school and enjoyed being active so when I had the opportunity to study Exercise and Sports Science it seemed like a natural progression. I started with LGF through my prac. placement during university and have been here ever since!
What is it that you enjoy the most about your role with Let’s Get Fit?
Working with a wide range of people, helping them to achieve their health and fitness goals in an environment that doesn’t feel like your average gym. The most common thing I notice is the way people often arrive at the studio – and the remarkable difference in energy when they leave.
What is your favourite exercise to do?
I love to run. I’m always looking for new trails and varying terrain to keep it interesting. Workouts that challenge both the brain and the body are great for enhancing mental alertness.
Why does fitness and well-being mean so much to you?
Being fit and well at any age is important and exercise can play an integral role in helping achieve optimal wellbeing. Learning sporting skills as a child, increasing aerobic capacity as an adult and keeping strong as you age are ways fitness helps you manage daily activities with energy and ease.
How do you think clients can benefit from training with Let’s Get Fit?
LGF offers a range of services depending on a client’s goals, health status and lifestyle. The great thing about the GTS is having a program individually prescribed and delivered in a group environment. We also offer one on one sessions which are tailored for clients with specific goals, wanting that extra focus and attention.
What do you think makes Let’s Get Fits different to other fitness studios?
LGF has a real community feel and embraces people of all ages and fitness levels. When you walk into LGF you get the feeling that this is not your typical gym and you can feel assured that the instructors are here to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
